The Knights of Columbus, a Catholic fraternal organization, was founded in St Mary’s Church in New Haven, Connecticut, in 1882 by Father Michael J. McGivney and is based on the Principals of: CHARITY, UNITY, FRATERNITY, and PATRIOTISM.

Its international membership is now 1.7 million and each year it’s brotherhood contributes many millions of dollars and man-hours to a multitude of charitable endeavors. The Bellmore Knights of Columbus Council, #3689, was chartered on August 16, 1953.
